Board Governance and Leadership Conference – February 3rd

The
Nonprofit Management Association at the Schulich School of Business will be
hosting a Board Governance and Leadership Conference to discuss Social
Leadership through Business.
It is a
half day event and will take place on Friday, February 3rd from 1 – 5:30
pm in room N109 at the Schulich School of Business.
There will
be two workshops:
Session
1 will be a
panel discussion featuring industry professionals and focuses on GOVERNANCE,
more specifically:

How to become a member of a
nonprofit board

Responsibilities of board
members
-
The benefits to sitting on
nonprofit boards
Session
2 will be a
panel discussion featuring industry leaders and focuses on LEADERSHIP,
more specifically:

The role of an executive
director of a nonprofit
-
Governance challenges in the
nonprofit sector
The event
will also feature a keynote address from Bill Young, founder of Social
Capital Partners. Other speakers include:

George De La Rosa, CEO –
Luminus Financial

Steve Beatty, Senior Partner,
KPMG and Chair, St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation

Neil Hetherington, CEO of
Habitat for Humanity Toronto

cheese event.
