CEO of YMCA CANADA JOINS ALTRUVEST CHARITABLE
SERVICES
Sol Kasimer, CEO of YMCA Canada, has joined as CEO
of Altruvest Charitable Services, on April 1st. Sol's career in the Y movement
spans 32 years, with 21 years at the YMCA of Montreal and 10 years at YMCA
Canada.
Altruvest is one of a few charities of its kind that
offers
performance improvement solutions to other charities at little or no
cost. The organization appealed to Sol because of the potential to
build the young charity from the ground up and because of the real
impact it can have in helping small to mid-sized charities maximize
their effectiveness.
"As Chair of the Capacity Joint Table for the
Voluntary Sector
Initiative, I became aware that many of the tools to support charities
exist, but they are not being made accessible or reaching
organizations," said Sol. "At Altruvest, I have an opportunity to do
just that."
To contact Sol, you can reach him either by email at
skasimer@altruvest.org or by telephone at, 905-696-5135.
BoardMatch Fundamentals Exceeds Expectations
Altruvest’s innovative BoardMatch Fundamentals
program introduces charities to qualified, interested and informed volunteers
who are willing to share their expertise by serving on boards of charitable
organizations. Currently, operational in the Greater Toronto Area, BoardMatch
Fundamentals will soon be available across Canada with the provision of
“anytime, anyplace” access to volunteer charitable board service opportunities.
In the past 8 months, BoardMatch Fundamentals has
filled 105 board positions on Greater Toronto Area charities. These results far
exceed our projected sixty positions and also exceed benchmarks for similar
programs in the United States (this is the only program of its kind in Canada).
